FineTobacconist.com was asked to review a humidor from Adorini. The specific humidor we reviewed was the Adorini Sorrente Deluxe.

The humidor was shipped from Germany. It arrived surprisingly quick considering it had to travel half-way around the world and clear US Customs. The shipping materials and packing was very well done, and the humidor arrived in perfect condition. The package included the humidor itself, a humidor use and care guide, a pre-calibrated precision hair hygrometer, a gold-plated acryl polymer based humidifier, dividers with label clips, and a small bottle of distilled water.

The first thing that struck us about this humidor was the quality of the craftsmanship and level of detail. The Sorrente Deluxe is a 75 count humidor, but has walls thicker than most 300 count humidors we've seen. The lid is held on with extra strong quadrant hinges that are 24k gold plated and hand polished. The exterior veneer is finished in a flawless black lacquer with the imprint of a tobacco leaf on the top. The quality of the finish is about what you would expect to see on a grand piano. When you close the lid, the seal is perfect.

The Spanish Cedar interior has a unique ribbed design on the bottom and the sides to allow for air circulation around your cigars. It also comes with an adjustable divider set that will allow you to configure your collection of fine smokes for maximum capacity. The dividers include label clips for easy identification of your cigars. The other interesting thing about the interior is that underneath the Spanish Cedar veneer inside the lid is a magnet. So, your hygrometer and humidifier are mounted by simply putting them on the lid.

We did test the pre-set hygrometer to see if it needed any adjustments. After being shipped from Germany to the American Midwest, the hygrometer was only off by a few degrees. The accuracy of the precision hair hygrometer is superior to every analog hygrometer I've ever seen, and as good as most digital versions.

The humidifier, like the hinges, is gold plated and hand polished. It has an acryl polymer mat inside it, so all you do is add distilled water, and it works the same way that beads do. This type of humidifier will require much less maintenance, and will provide a much more consistent RH level than the sponge type humidifiers will. It also comes with an adjustable grate so you can open and close it to make fine adjustments to your humidity. It only took one day to get this humidor to maintain a consistent 70% humidity level.
